Changing Appearance Properties<br />

The Appearance tab of the Properties pane (shown in Figure 8-3 on page 198) lets you set an element's background,<br />

border, and opacity, as well as add a reflection or shadow to the element.<br />

Changing the Background<br />

To change the element's background, choose Color, Linear Gradient, Image Fill, or None in the Background drop-down<br />

menu. Choosing None specifies no background color, gradient, or image (for example, if you already selected a color,<br />

gradient, or image, select None to delete it).<br />

Color<br />

To set the background to a solid color:<br />

1. Choose Color from the Background drop-down menu.<br />

The HTML color code box appears underneath the Background drop-down menu, showing the HTML code for<br />

white (#FFFFFF), as shown in Figure 8-3 on page 198. You can enter the color's HTML code in the box, or<br />

continue with these steps to pick the color..<br />

2. Click inside the HTML color code box.<br />

The color picker appears in the Properties pane, as shown in Figure 8-4 on page 199.<br />
