CHAPTER 13: Using Layout and Navigation Widgets Using the 3D Stage Widget The 3D Stage widget creates a container area on the page that can hold other page elements, such as Label, Button, Text, Image, and Video elements. Using this widget you can transform two dimensional elements into three dimensional elements by dragging them into the 3D Stage element. The 3D Stage element provides "the appearance" that some parts of an element are near the viewer as they appear larger and some parts of an element are further from the viewer as they appear smaller. The 3D Stage widget's 3D Transform tab allows you to set Perspective and Perspective Origin properties collectively to all the elements that are included within the widget. In addition, for each element within the 3D Stage element, you can set its individual 3D properties, including setting different perspective point of origin, offset, rotation, and skew properties. You can change the appearance of the 3D Stage element separately from the other elements and from the page itself. You can also associate the 3D Stage element with an event and an action to be performed when the user interacts with the 3D Stage element. To place the widget on a page and create a 3D Stage element, drag the widget from the Layout section of the Widgets pane to the Canvas, as shown in Figure 13-1 on page 314. You can then resize, align, and arrange the element to fit your page design (for details, see "Working in the Project Editor" on page 154). Figure 13-1: Placing a 3D Stage widget on the page.
