5ml User's Guide Using the Tweet Button Widget The Tweet Button widget lets you place a "Tweet" button on a page, with or without a counter of other tweet messages about the page, and with optional text for the tweet message to post in the user's Twitter feed. You provide the URL of the page that Twitter users share when they tap or click the Tweet button, and the usernames for two Twitter accounts that users can tap or click to follow. To place the widget on a page and create an element from it, drag the widget from the Widgets pane to the Canvas, as shown in Figure 14-4 on page 352. You can then resize, align, and arrange the element to fit your page design (for details, see "Working in the Project Editor" on page 154). Figure 14-4: Placing a Tweet Button widget on a page in the Canvas. To change the Tweet Button element's properties, click the element on the page or select it in the Page Outline pane. The Properties pane for the Tweet Button element appears on the right side of the Project Editor. You can then set the properties in the General tab of the Properties pane: 1. Enter the URL of the page in the URL to Share field, which is underneath the ID field. 2. Choose one of the following display types from the Display Type drop-down menu underneath the URL to Share field: • Horizontal Count: Displays the Tweet button and counter in a horizontal layout (refer to Figure 14-4 on page 352). • Vertical Count: Displays the Tweet button and counter in a vertical layout. • No Count: Displays the Tweet button without a counter. - 352 -

Enter up to two optional Twitter accounts that the user can follow. You can also customize the Tweet Button element by changing properties in the Properties pane: • The General tab lets you define the Tweet Button element's optional ID. For details, see "Changing General Properties" on page 197. • The Appearance tab lets you set the element's background, border, and opacity, and add a reflection and shadow to the element. For details, see "Changing Appearance Properties" on page 198. • The Layout tab lets you set the size of the element and its position on the page. You can also constrain the proportions of the element so that the aspect ratio stays the same when freely resizing it on the Canvas. For details, see "Changing Layout Properties" on page 214. - 353 -
