CHAPTER 16: Using Web View, HTML, and HTML5 Widgets • The General tab lets you define the element's optional ID and the Open HTML Editor button opens the HTML Editor where you can enter HTML code. For details, see "Changing General Properties" on page 197. • The Appearance tab lets you set the HTML element's background, border, and opacity, and add a reflection and shadow to the element. For details, see "Changing Appearance Properties" on page 198. • The Layout tab lets you set the size of the HTML element and its position on the page. 5ml User's Guide Using the HTML5 Widget The HTML5 widget lets you create an HTML5 logo element on a page that includes icons representing the supported features of your site. You use the HTML5 widget to highlight specific capabilities, such as offline access and storage, 3D graphics and effects, CSS3 style sheet control, and real-time connectivity. To place the HTML5 element on a page, drag the widget from the Other section of the Widgets pane to the Canvas, as shown in Figure 16-7 on page 369. You can then align and arrange the element to fit your page design (for details, see "Working in the Project Editor" on page 154). Figure 16-7: Placing an HTML5 widget on a page. After placing the HTML5 widget on the page, you can change the HTML5 element's properties by clicking the element on the page, or clicking HTML5 in the Page Outline pane. The Properties pane for the HTML5 element appears on the right side of the Project Editor, as shown in Figure 16-8 on page 370. You can choose which features of your site to highlight by selecting individual Supporting Elements in the General tab of the Properties pane: • Connectivity / Real Time: Uses Web Sockets and server-sent events to provide more efficient connectivity for real-time chats, faster games, and better communication. • CSS3 / Styling: Uses CSS3 to deliver a wide range of stylization and effects, and Web Open Font Format (WOFF) for typographic flexibility. - 369 -
