Using the Text Widget
The Text widget lets you add a Text element to a page. You may want to use it to add a headline or body text to the page.
You can change the element's appearance, the font and formatting of text within the element, and the element's layout
and position on the page.
To place a Text element on a page, drag the Text widget from the Common section of the Widgets pane to the Canvas.
You can then resize, align, and arrange the element to fit your page design (for details, see "Working in the Project
Editor" on page 154).
To customize the Text element, select the element on the page or in the Page Outline pane, as shown in Figure 9-2 on
page 237. To enter the text for the Text element, double-click the element on the page and edit the text in the element.
Alternatively, to enter more sophisticated content, in the Properties pane, on the General tab, click the Open HTML Editor
button and enter HTML code.

You can customize the element by changing properties in the Properties pane, which appears on the right side of the
Project Editor after you select the Text element:
• The General tab lets you define the Text element's optional ID. You can also open the HTML Editor and enter
HTML code to create more sophisticated content than just double-clicking on the Text widget and entering text
there. For details, see "Changing General Properties" on page 197.
