CHAPTER 9: Using Common Widgets • The Appearance tab lets you set the element's background, border, and opacity, and add a reflection and shadow to the element. See "Changing Appearance Properties" on page 198 • The Text tab lets you change the font family and size of the text, the text color, text alignment within the element, and text formatting. 5ml User's Guide Using the Label Widget The Label widget lets you add a Label element with text to a page and associate an action to be performed when the user taps or clicks the element. You may want to use it to add a rectangle with text as a link to another page or to a web page. You can change the element's appearance, the text font family and size, text formatting within the element, and the element's layout on the page. In addition, you can change the text character spacing, add a shadow to the text, and wrap the Label text. To place a Label element on a page, drag the widget from the Common section of the Widgets pane to the Canvas. You can then resize, align, and arrange the element to fit your page design (for details, see "Working in the Project Editor" on page 154). To customize the Label element, select the element on the page or in the Page Outline pane, as shown in Figure 9-3 on page 239. The Properties pane for the element appears on the right side of the Canvas. To enter the text for the Label element, enter the text in the Text field in the General tab at the top of the Properties pane, or double-click the element on the page and edit the text in the element.
