co-supression or RNAi strategies, but these approaches are largely based on a single<br />

gene approach <strong>and</strong> presently are difficult to use on a large scale (Parinov <strong>and</strong> Sundaresan,<br />

2000). Physical <strong>and</strong> chemical means <strong>of</strong> mutagenesis have largely given way to insertional<br />

mutagenesis for the benefit <strong>of</strong> genome-wide studies.<br />
