50.5 System Name<br />

This parameter defines a unique name for the <strong>FS1</strong>. This same name is used both<br />
when displaying systems via the web interface <strong>and</strong> for display on the <strong>FS1</strong>’s screen<br />
saver (if System Name is chosen in parameter 70.1 Screen Saver).<br />
To eliminate trailing characters in order to shorten an existing system name,<br />
overwrite them with '-', <strong>and</strong> then press the top Select button twice to save the<br />
changes <strong>and</strong> exit. Press the bottom Select button to go back to the system name to<br />
verify your entry. Spaces may not be entered in the system name via the front panel.<br />
If spaces in the system name are required, the name must be entered from the web<br />
browser.<br />
50.5 System Name Description of Choices<br />
Parameter Adjustments:<br />
variable Using the Select <strong>and</strong> Adjust buttons, enter a name for the <strong>FS1</strong>, up to 20 characters.<br />
The top Select button advances to the next character, <strong>and</strong> the bottom Select<br />
button steps back to the previous character. The Adjust buttons scroll through<br />
the choices for each character. The character currently being changed flashes.<br />
The character set allowed is: '-', '.', A through Z (uppercase) <strong>and</strong> a through z<br />
(lowercase). To save the name, press the top Select button until you reach the<br />
end of the name <strong>and</strong> advance to the next item.<br />
Default: aja-fs1<br />
Selecting this parameter allows you to view the <strong>FS1</strong> MAC address. The MAC<br />
address is a unique value associated with the <strong>FS1</strong>’s internal network adapter. MAC<br />
addresses are also known as hardware addresses or physical addresses. MAC<br />
addresses uniquely identify an Ethernet adapter on a LAN.<br />
MAC address format: MM:MM:MM:SS:SS:SS<br />
The value is 12-digit hexadecimal, where the first half identifies the manufacturer<br />
<strong>and</strong> the second half identifies the unique serial number.
