Replace the unit inwhich the LCD backlight is mounted.The LCD backlight has a life of about 10,000 hours (5,000 hoursguaranteed). (During its lifetime, the backlight should maintain abrightness exceeding 50% of that when new.)Upon reaching the end of its service life, the LCD backlight unit must bereplaced. The unit can be replaced either by the user or by a FANUCservice engineer.Remark) When the screen display is not required, the display andbacklight can be turned off by pressing a key.Doing so will increase the useful life of the backlight.Suppressing the screen displayWhile holding down the CAN key, press any function key(for example, the POSkey).Restoring the screen displayPress any function key (for example, the POSkey).182
