If the maintenance departmentwants to take a room out of service for a few days to perform repairs, this informationcan be relayed to the housekeeping and front desk staff through the housekeepingmodule.Food and BeverageThe food and beverage module reduces paper flow (vouchers) as well as telephonecalls from the restaurants and lounges to the front desk (Figure 4-18). It also facilitatesthe accounting process, verifying the integrity of the point-of-sale system. Cashierreports (cash, credit, room service) are easily produced. Other features include inventorycontrol and calculation, recipe development, pricing, item profit evaluation,and sales projections.
