12.2.1 There is an agreement between <strong>the</strong> employer and employee in respect of eachperiod;12.2.2 A sleepover period shall consist of a maximum of eight continuous hours of atwelve hour night shift, <strong>the</strong> remaining four hours to be paid at night shift rates;12.2.3 A sleepover period shall count as night shift hours for <strong>the</strong> purpose of calculationof annual leave entitlements, overtime entitlements and limitations on night workin this agreement;12.2.4 No overtime shall be worked in conjunction with a night shift which includes asleepover, o<strong>the</strong>r than disturbances during <strong>the</strong> sleepover period.12.3 The employer shall ensure that <strong>the</strong> employee is able to sleep on <strong>the</strong> premises andshall provide:• A meal• Suitable, healthy accommodation and bedding in a single room occupied by<strong>the</strong> employee• A bathroom or shower room, toilet and a meal room which are allreasonably accessible from <strong>the</strong> bedroom and reasonably private• Linen, cutlery, crockery and blanketsThere shall be no charge to <strong>the</strong> employee for any of <strong>the</strong>se provisions.12.4 An employee engaged on a sleepover shall be paid ordinary rates for <strong>the</strong> period of <strong>the</strong>sleepover.12.5 Where an employee is required to perform duties during <strong>the</strong> sleepover period, eachdisturbance shall be recorded and paid in multiples of one half hour's work at <strong>the</strong>appropriate night shift rate.13. EXCURSIONS13.1 Where an employee agrees to supervise clients in excursion activities involvingovernight stays from home, <strong>the</strong> following provisions shall apply:13.1.1 Payment at normal rates of pay for time worked between <strong>the</strong> hours of 8.00am to8.00pm Monday to Friday up to a maximum of ten hours per day.13.1.2 Accrual of time in lieu of overtime payment for all o<strong>the</strong>r hours.13.1.3 Payment of overnight allowance in accordance with <strong>the</strong> provision of clause 1213.2 Weekend excursions: In addition to time in lieu accrued pursuant to clause 13.1.2,where an employee involved in overnight excursion activities is required to workon a Saturday and/or Sunday, <strong>the</strong> days worked in <strong>the</strong> two week cycle includingthat weekend shall not exceed ten days.14.
