27.10.1 An employee will notify of <strong>the</strong>ir intention to return to work after a period ofparental leave at least four weeks prior to <strong>the</strong> expiration of <strong>the</strong> leave.27.10.2 An employee will be entitled to <strong>the</strong> position which <strong>the</strong>y held immediately beforeproceeding on parental leave. In <strong>the</strong> case of an employee transferred to a safe jobpursuant to clause 27.9, <strong>the</strong> employee will be entitled to return to <strong>the</strong> position <strong>the</strong>yheld immediately before such transfer.27.10.3 Where such position no longer exists but <strong>the</strong>re are o<strong>the</strong>r positions available which<strong>the</strong> employee is qualified for and is capable of performing, <strong>the</strong> employee will beentitled to a position as nearly comparable in status and pay to that of <strong>the</strong>ir formerposition.27.11 Replacement employees27.11.1 As described in section 6.9, a replacement employee is an employee specificallyengaged or temporarily promoted or transferred, as a result of an employeeproceeding on parental leave.27.11.2 Before an employer engages a replacement employee <strong>the</strong> employer must informthat person of <strong>the</strong> temporary nature of <strong>the</strong> employment and of <strong>the</strong> rights of <strong>the</strong>employee who is being replaced.27.12 Communication during parental leave27.12.1 Where an employee is on parental leave and a definite decision has been made tointroduce significant change at <strong>the</strong> workplace, <strong>the</strong> employer shall take reasonablesteps to:27.12.1(a) make information available in relation to any significant effect <strong>the</strong> change willhave on <strong>the</strong> status or responsibility level of <strong>the</strong> position <strong>the</strong> employee held beforecommencing parental leave; and27.12.1(b) provide an opportunity for <strong>the</strong> employee to discuss any significant effect <strong>the</strong>change will have on <strong>the</strong> status or responsibility level of <strong>the</strong> position <strong>the</strong> employeeheld before commencing parental leave.27.12.2 The employee shall take reasonable steps to inform <strong>the</strong> employer about anysignificant matter that will affect <strong>the</strong> employee’s decision regarding <strong>the</strong> duration ofparental leave to be taken, whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> employee intends to return to work andwhe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> employee intends to request to return to work on a part-time basis.27.12.3 The employee shall also notify <strong>the</strong> employer of changes of address or o<strong>the</strong>r contactdetails which might affect <strong>the</strong> employer’s capacity to comply with 27.12.128. JURY SERVICE28.1 An employee required to attend for jury service during <strong>the</strong>ir ordinary working hoursshall be reimbursed by <strong>the</strong> employer an amount equal to <strong>the</strong> difference between <strong>the</strong>amount paid in respect of his/her attendance for such jury service and <strong>the</strong> amount ofCommunity Sector Multiple Enterprise Agreement 2009
