A contract will be drawn up between <strong>the</strong> staff member and <strong>the</strong> MHCC, coveringarrangements for repaying <strong>the</strong> interest free loan. The contract shall cover such matters aswhen repayments should start and finish, <strong>the</strong> agreed amount for each repayment, how oftenrepayments should be made, and how <strong>the</strong> funds should be repaid if <strong>the</strong> staff member leaves<strong>the</strong> MHCC’s employment prior to <strong>the</strong> repayment of <strong>the</strong> full loan.Repayments will be paid at a minimum fortnightly amount of 5% of gross salary or an amountagreed between <strong>the</strong> Executive Officer and employee that allows <strong>the</strong> loan to be paid back to<strong>the</strong> MHCC within a three year period from <strong>the</strong> start date of <strong>the</strong> loan.Proof of EnrolmentDocumentation relating to proof of course enrolment shall be presented before any loan fundsare advanced.2. Leave ApprovalLeave is approved on a case-by-case basis, however all employees are entitled to <strong>the</strong> sameleave provisions under <strong>the</strong>se procedures. The approval of leave is to be a transparent processto meet <strong>the</strong> needs of <strong>the</strong> individual and organisation. When approving leave supervisors needto take <strong>the</strong> following into consideration:a. Individuals and team workloads;b. The timing of <strong>the</strong> leave in relation to o<strong>the</strong>r staff members;c. If <strong>the</strong> position will need back filling;d. Will <strong>the</strong>re be an additional cost, and can that cost be met?e. How will <strong>the</strong> workload be divided if <strong>the</strong> position is not back filled?3. Parental LeaveAll employees with 12 months continuous service are entitled to up to 12 months lessentitlement taken by partner, unpaid Parental Leave in accordance with Industrial RelationsCommon Rule.After two years of service, MHCC employees will be entitled to a maximum of 18 monthsunpaid parental leave less any entitlement taken by <strong>the</strong>ir partner.The MHCC will provide paid parental leave as follows:• Two weeks paid parental leave, which can be taken at half pay, on completionof one year of permanent service with <strong>the</strong> MHCC, and;• After completion of two years of permanent service with <strong>the</strong> MHCC fourweeks paid leave paid as a split payment as follows:o Two weeks parental leave, which can be taken at half pay, paid atcommencement of parental leave, and;o The equivalent of two weeks pay, equivalent to <strong>the</strong> salary paid at <strong>the</strong>time parental leave commenced, to be paid three months after <strong>the</strong>staff member returns to work following leave. This second paymentis to be taken as a lump sum.o Eligibility for <strong>the</strong> second payment will be forfeited if <strong>the</strong> staffmember resigns prior to completion of three months employmentfollowing <strong>the</strong>ir return to work after leave.Community Sector Multiple Business Agreements 2006
