COMMUNITY SERVICES WORKER LEVEL 7Characteristics of <strong>the</strong> levelA person employed as a community services worker level 7 shall operate under limiteddirection and exercise managerial responsibility for various functions within a section and/ororganisation or operate as a specialist, a member of a specialised professional team orindependently.General features at this level require employees' involvement in establishing operationalprocedures which impact on activities undertaken and outcomes achieved by <strong>the</strong> organisationand/or activities undertaken by sections of <strong>the</strong> community served by <strong>the</strong> organisation.Employees are involved in <strong>the</strong> formation/establishment of programs, <strong>the</strong> procedures and workpractices within <strong>the</strong> organisation and will be required to provide assistance to o<strong>the</strong>r employeesand/or sections.Positions at this level will demand responsibility for decision-making and <strong>the</strong> provision ofexpert advice to o<strong>the</strong>r areas of <strong>the</strong> organisation. Employees would be expected to undertake<strong>the</strong> control and co-ordination of <strong>the</strong> organisation and major work initiatives. Employeesrequire a good understanding of <strong>the</strong> long term goals of <strong>the</strong> organisation.In addition positions at this level may be identified by <strong>the</strong> level of responsibility for decisionmaking,<strong>the</strong> exercise of judgement and delegated authority and <strong>the</strong> provision of expert advice.The management of staff is normally a feature at this level. Employees are required to setoutcomes in relation to <strong>the</strong> organisation and may be required to negotiate matters on behalf of<strong>the</strong> organisation.Graduates employed with and required to perform duties relevant to <strong>the</strong>ir tertiary qualificationshall progress to this level once <strong>the</strong>y have completed three years' satisfactory service at level 6and undertake work related to <strong>the</strong> responsibilities under this level.Community Sector Multiple Enterprise Agreement 2009
