D11 Mental Illness Education ACTThe following additional terms are only binding on Mental Illness Education ACT and <strong>the</strong>employees of Mental Illness Education ACT1. Leave Arrangements1.1 Leave entitlements, including sick leave, bereavement leave, annual leave, long serviceleave and parental leave are contained in <strong>the</strong> Community Sector Multiple EnterpriseAgreement for <strong>the</strong> ACT.1.2 In summary, <strong>the</strong> main leave entitlements for a full time employee are:• personal/sick leave, 15 days• bereavement leave for an immediate family member, 3 days• annual leave, 4 weeks• parental leave, unpaid, including 12mths maternity leaveFor part-time employees, leave is calculated on a pro rata basis.1.3 MIEACT has an addendum to <strong>the</strong> entitlements for Personal/Sick Leave. MIEACTbelieves that due to <strong>the</strong> type of work and <strong>the</strong> stress that might <strong>the</strong>refore occur in <strong>the</strong>mental health area, staff may from time to time require additional Personal Leave. Forthis purpose, an additional 15 days Personal Leave or pro rata is available to permanentstaff. Such leave is subject to <strong>the</strong> following conditions:• All normal Personal Leave must be taken before any additionalPersonal Leave can be taken. A doctor’s certificate may be requiredbefore additional Personal Leave can be considered or authorized.• Additional Personal Leave becomes available on <strong>the</strong> annualanniversary of commencement of employment. Claims for extraPersonal Leave must be put to a meeting of <strong>the</strong> full COM.• Unused additional Personal Leave does not accumulate if not usedwithin <strong>the</strong> current year of employment and unused additional PersonalLeave is not paid out on cessation of employment with MIEACT.• A log will be kept by <strong>the</strong> Bookkeeper of any additional Personal Leave.Community Sector Multiple Business Agreements 2006
