3. PARTIES BOUND AND APPLICATION OF THE AGREEMENT3.1 This agreement covers:3.1.1 The employers listed in Schedule A of this Agreement.3.1.2 The Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union, alsoreferred to as <strong>the</strong> Australian Services Union <strong>NSW</strong> & ACT (Services) Branch (<strong>the</strong><strong>ASU</strong>).3.1.3 Employees engaged by <strong>the</strong> employers in Schedule A who perform clerical,administrative, community education or development, community services,advocacy or social and/or welfare work, or who are o<strong>the</strong>rwise employed in or inconnection with <strong>the</strong> industry of social and/or welfare work3.2 The terms of this agreement shall be binding on <strong>the</strong> employers listed in scheduleA and <strong>the</strong> employees of <strong>the</strong> employers listed in schedule A, save for where <strong>the</strong>reis a difference between <strong>the</strong> provisions of this agreement and <strong>the</strong> provisions inschedule D of this Agreement, <strong>the</strong> provisions of schedule D, as <strong>the</strong>y apply toindividual employers and <strong>the</strong>ir employees, shall prevail.4. DATE OF OPERATION4.1 This Agreement shall operate from <strong>the</strong> date of lodgement and shall expire on 30 June2010.5. POSTING OF AGREEMENT AND NOTICES5.1 A copy of this agreement shall be kept in a convenient place for perusal of allemployees, and a copy of <strong>the</strong> agreement shall be made available to all new employeeson engagement.5.2 The employer shall permit notices from employee representatives, pertaining to <strong>the</strong>employment relationship, to be posted in a convenient place for perusal by employees.PART 2.ENGAGEMENT OF EMPLOYEES6. CONTRACTS OF EMPLOYMENT6.1 All employees o<strong>the</strong>r than a casual or fixed term employee (as defined in this agreement)shall be:6.1.1 Subject to a probationary period of no more than three months’ duration fromcommencement of service;6.1.2 Permanent employees after satisfactory conclusion of <strong>the</strong> determined probationaryperiod;6.2 At <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> probationary period <strong>the</strong> employer shall, subject to sub-clause 6.3,confirm permanent employment of <strong>the</strong> employee in writing.Community Sector Multiple Enterprise Agreement 2009
