Servicing Exit Hardware Trim PartsRemoving therim cylinder forVon DuprininstallationsNote: The rim cylinder is used in rim and rod exit device installations.1. If replacing the cylinder, remove the core. See page 8–9.2. Remove the following parts:■ exit hardware as necessary to remove the B.A.S.I.S. escutcheon(page 8–8)■ B.A.S.I.S. escutcheon (page 8–13).3. From the back of the escutcheon, remove the two mounting screwsand the cylinder clamp plate.4. Lift the mounting sleeve off the cylinder.5. If installing a new cylinder, break off the spindle on the newcylinder to match the length of the old spindle.2. From the front of the B.A.S.I.S. escutcheon, insert the cylinder intothe cylinder opening.3. Holding the cylinder in position in the escutcheon, insert thecylinder mounting sleeve through the back of the escutcheon, overthe cylinder.4. Orient the cylinder and clamp plate as shown in Figure 8.9. Fromthe back of the escutcheon, secure the cylinder and mountingsleeve using the clamp plate and mounting screws.5. Reinstall the following parts:■ B.A.S.I.S. escutcheon (page 8–14)■ exit hardware (page 8–8).6. If installing a new cylinder, reinstall the core. See page 8–9.8–12 B.A.S.I.S.
