Mortise LocksCompleting the installationOutside of doorSpindlesFigure 16 Installing the leversLocationof setscrewInside of door16 Install inside and outside levers1 Unscrew the inside spindle one full turn to allow thespindles to turn freely.2 With the handle pointing toward the door hinges,insert the outside lever and spindles assembly into thelock from the outside of the door.3 Slide the inside lever onto the inside spindle andsecure it with the set screw.4 Making sure that the core is positioned properly in theoutside escutcheon (EV and FV only) and theescutcheons are aligned properly on the door, tightenthe escutcheon mounting screws.Note: If a core is not available, you can use the cylinderwrench (ED211) to help you align the core opening in theescutcheon.5 Turn the levers to check that they operate smoothly.12BEST ACCESS SYSTEMSIndianapolis, Indiana
