Mortise LocksInside escutcheonCombinationmounting screwInstalling the lock14 Secure escutcheons1 Position the inside and outside escutcheons on thedoor.2 Making sure that the escutcheons do not pinchthe wires, secure the escutcheons to the door. Do nottighten the screws completely. Mortise Locks15 Install battery pack1 Connect the battery pack to the battery connector onthe wire harness inside the battery compartment.Note: The battery connection has 3 wires and 3 pins. Thewire colors are:■ red with white stripe■ white■ black with white stripe.Caution: When connecting the battery pack, makesure:■ there are no loose wire connections where thewires are inserted into the connectors■ the connectors are firmly mated.2 Place the battery pack inside the battery compartmentso that the foam will face the battery compartmentdoor.Caution: When routing the battery wires, makesure the wires are not routed across any sharpedges or over any surface that could damage theirsleeving or wire insulation.Figure 15Inside escutcheonBattery packInside of doorConnecting the battery packBEST ACCESS SYSTEMSIndianapolis, Indiana11
