Servicing Standard Outside Escutcheon PartsSERVICING THE ESCUTCHEON GASKETCautionRemoving theescutcheon gasketBefore you handle the control electronics board or any componenton the control electronics board, make sure that you are properlygrounded using an electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection kit.Touching the control electronics board without proper grounding candamage sensitive electronic components—even if you don’t noticeany static discharge.1. Remove the inside and outside escutcheons from the door. Formortise lock instructions, see page 5–3. For cylindrical lockinstructions, see page 7–5.2. Peel away the protective backing from the edge of the escutcheongasket and slide the gasket onto the upper escutcheon post.
