EX Series Exit Hardware TrimInstalling the exit hardware and trim10 Install cylinder (EV function only)RimcylinderB.A.S.I.S.escutcheonFigure 7Figure 8SpindleRimcylinderInstalling the cylinderClamp plateRim cylinder componentsOutside of doorScrewsOrient the curvetoward the cylinder.For Precision hardware rim and rod exit deviceinstallations1 To determine the correct spindle length, try the cylinderin the door while holding the B.A.S.I.S. escutcheon andlock stile case in place.Then break off the spindle at the groove where it willengage correctly with the latching mechanism.Break off the mounting screws at the groove where theywill secure the clamp plate to the cylinder.2 Insert the cylinder through the cylinder opening in theB.A.S.I.S. escutcheon and into the door as shown inFigure 7.3 Orient the cylinder and clamp plate as shown inFigure 8. From the inside of the door, secure the cylinderusing the clamp plate and mounting screws.For all mortise exit device installations1 For doors less than 2″ in thickness, place the cylinderring provided on the cylinder.2 Rotate the cylinder cam to the 12 o’clock position, asshown in Figure 9.3 Using a cylinder wrench (ED211), insert the cylinderthrough the cylinder opening in the B.A.S.I.S.escutcheon and screw the cylinder into the mortisecase.
