Export and standard control versionsCNC Controls, Positioning ModuleExport and standard control versions■Export/standard versionsAs a consequence of the prevailing export restrictionsapplicable to the system software of numerical controls inrelation to particular control functions in accordance withthe European/German Export List, SINUMERIK 810D, SINUMERIK840Di, SINUMERIK 840D and the FM 357-2 positioningmodule are available in two versions.In the case of SINUMERK 810D, this applies to the CCUcomponent with integrated system software, withSINUMERIK 840Di to the NCK system software, withSINUMERIK 840D to the NCU system software and withthe FM 357-2 positioning module to thesystem firmware.The standard versions of SINUMERIK 810D,SINUMERIK 840Di, SINUMERIK 840D and the FM 357-2LX and FM 357-2H positioning modules offer the fullscope of control functions, but require official approvalwhen exported to countries outsidethe EU.The export versions of SINUMERIK 802S,SINUMERIK 802C, SINUMERIK 802D, SINUMERIK810DE, SINUMERIK 840DiE, SINUMERIK 840DE plustheFM 357-2L positioning module have a limited scope offunctions in accordance with the Export Listrestrictions and thus require no official approval interms of their »type« according to EU or German law.The approval status for the complete CNC system iscorrespondingly dependent on the control or controlversion used.Note:If any particular components require official re-exportapproval according to US law, this must be duly filed for.Information pertaining to the approval status of suppliedcomponents can be found in the delivery documentation(export code »AL« according to EU and German law and»ECCN«according to US law). Any requirement for officialapproval with respect to the final destination and purposeof the component■Important export informationSince the export of standard versions(components/system) is subject to a time-consumingofficial approval procedure, which applies in equalmeasure to the supply of such components for thepurpose of servicing and spare parts supply, werecommend supply of the export version whereverpossible.As regards the standard versions, it is particularlyimportant to note that the requirement for official approvalalso applies to standard version components intended forspare parts supplypurposes. This applies in particular in cases where thecontrol can be exported without official approval after themachine manufacturer has installed it in a machine tool.The lengthy officialapproval procedure can severely restrict the scope forproviding after-sales servicing.When an application for an export permit for a system ismade, we therefore recommend that spare parts suppliesfor any componentsrequiring approval are included in the application as amatter of course to avoid future delays.If the control system is to be exported as an installedcomponent in a machine tool, we recommend thatmachine manufacturers include any componentsrequiring approval in the export permit application for themachine. If the machine itself does not require officialexport approval, but contains components which do, werecommend that an export permit for the replacementsupply ofsuch components is applied for in advance.Spare parts supplies requiring official approval can thenbe exported quickly and easily by the machinemanufacturer himself, or by Siemens if the manufacturercan make the original exportpermit available to Siemens.Siemens NC 60 2002 1/61
