• First semester examinations in June - submit assignments before or on 15 April.• Second semester and double modules examinations in November – submit assignments before or on 30 September.Examination arrangementsAn examination timetable will be available on the student portal, but will also be mailed to every student. Students are also requested tocontact their regional centres a week before the start of the examinations if they have not received their timetables. The timetable willcontain a list of modules with a corresponding list of final examination dates as well as your examination centre and the time of theexamination. The duration of every paper will also be indicated on the examination timetable.Students will only be permitted to an examination venue if they have settle their accounts, have with them their identity documents, theirstudent card or proof of registration in addition to the examination timetable and the admission letter. Students are responsible forensuring that they attend the correct examination session and receive the correct examination paper. Your student number serves as anexamination number and must be written on all examination answer scripts. Candidates and invigilators will be notified of any specialarrangements in advance. No smoking or cell phones will be allowed in the examination room.It is the responsibility of the student to notify the Centre for External Studies of any changes in his/her postal address and examinationcentres. Students are encouraged to check with CES two months before examinations whether their postal addresses and examinationcentres are correct. Students should also inform CES if they have changed examination centres as their examinations papers will alwaysbe sent to the centre provided by the students. Failure to do so could result in the unavailability of a specific examination paper at aparticular centre for which the University would not be held responsible.NOTE: Students should note that the last date for changing of their examination centre is 12 April for the June examination, and 27September for the November examination.Examination CentresStudents are informed that the University of Namibia will only establish an examination centre in an area if at least five students from thatarea register in a particular year. The University reserves the right to approve or reject any application for the establishment of anexamination centre in a particular area.Examination ResultsThe examination results will normally be announced two weeks after completion of the examination period. The University reserves theright to withhold results of students with outstanding library books or who have not settled their accounts in full.Students who have, in their opinion, met all the requirements for a specific qualification and have not received confirmation thereof by theend of February should contact the Administrative Coordinators at the Centre for External Studies, at the main campus in Windhoek. Thestudent must provide the Centre for External Studies with all the required documentation for certification as soon as possible after theirfinal examinations and ensure that all outstanding fees are paid.FeesThe University Council levies tuition fees per module as approved for a particular year. (See the Information, Regulations and FeesProspectus for 2013 for the approved fees.)Payment of FeesStudents will pay the prescribed fees for each module or programme for which they enrol and should settle their account for firstsemester modules by 30 June 2013, and all outstanding debt by 15 October 2013. These fees and registration will stay valid for theapproved registration period for the module. If a student failed a module, they have to register again for the module and pay theprescribed fees.Students who pay in full for all modules enrolled for at registration will receive a discount as approved by the Office of the Bursar for2013. (See the Information, Regulations and Fees Prospectus for 2013 for the approved fees). Students can also make a direct bankdeposit into the university account. The student number is compulsory.On enrolment, students should pay the minimum deposit approved by Council. Such students will receive their study material for theirregistered modules. Cancellation of modules during the 100% refund period will only be effected on return of all issued study material.Failure to PayOnly students who have paid all their prescribed fees will be permitted to re-register.21
