Thisclearance allows for easy insertionand removal of the heater andexcellent heat transfer without theneed for clamping, anti-seize or heatsink <strong>com</strong>pound with the thick filmnozzle heater.128Nozzle surface preparation may benecessary if the nozzle has anysurface contamination or otherirregularities. Cleaning of the usednozzle body surface is easily ac<strong>com</strong>plishedwith light sand blasting of thesurface and then a light buffing ofthe surface with a piece of emerycloth. After the cleaning operationthe nozzle heater should slip on andoff very easily. Forcing a heater on toa nozzle may result in heater damageand possible failure after it has beenin operation.Do not use anti-seize or heat sink<strong>com</strong>pound with thick filmnozzle heaters.
