Key <strong>Core</strong> Service: Administrative Computer provisioning and<br />
management<br />
Service description<br />
Computer deployment “Rollout” services activities include:<br />
Standards:<br />
� Evaluating and qualifying new products<br />
� Establishing standards for new computer and peripheral acquisitions (See<br />
Appendix II)<br />
Computer and/or Peripheral set-ups:<br />
� Setting up <strong>Core</strong> Institute Support computers, including notebooks, and<br />
peripheral devices (See Appendix I)<br />
� Installing and configuring images on new computers<br />
� Installation of supported applications (See Appendix I)<br />
� Installing network printer devices<br />
� Coordinating network connectivity<br />
Replacement Rollouts:<br />
Activities as described in Computer and/or Peripheral set-ups section above<br />
and:<br />
� Management and setup of computer replacement rollouts and lease<br />
returns<br />
� Delivering the new computer / managing the disposal of the old<br />
computer equipment.<br />
� Assisting with local transfers of <strong>BCIT</strong> data between computers (if<br />
requested).<br />
o Data will be retained for one week after new computer has been<br />
deployed to client.<br />
� Reinstalling existing supported USB peripherals (See Appendix I)<br />
Re-images:<br />
� Re-images of <strong>Core</strong> Institute Support computers when other<br />
troubleshooting methods fail. (Escalation from the Service Desk).<br />
� Installing and configuring images on new computers.<br />
� Reinstalling existing supported USB peripherals. (See Appendix I)<br />
� Reinstall clean image of standard operating system and applications when<br />
associated user changes (i.e. reissued to a new user).<br />
