Key <strong>Core</strong> Service: Hardware Warranty and Repair<br />
Service description<br />
Coordination of repair services for warranty and non-warranty supported<br />
hardware. (See Appendix I)<br />
Activities include:<br />
� Initial troubleshooting and diagnosis of hardware fault<br />
� Repair of supported computer equipment<br />
� Coordination and dispatch to warranty or other service provider<br />
� Printer repair<br />
� Determining whether it is cost effective to repair non-warranty equipment<br />
� Ordering of replacement parts<br />
� Coordination of loaner notebooks, during the repair period, if required.<br />
(Current loaner pool consists of limited number of notebooks)<br />
Service characteristics<br />
Ongoing service that is renegotiated annually.<br />
Operating Hours:<br />
M – F: 08:30 – 16:30<br />
Service is available for all <strong>BCIT</strong> <strong>Core</strong> Institute Support computers and<br />
peripherals. Out of warranty equipment will be cross-charged for parts to the<br />
owner department. Misused and/or abused equipment will not be covered under<br />
warranty and owner departments will be cross-charged for repair.<br />
