sisters John Berzonsky of Smithmill, PA., Stanley Berzonsky of Ramey, PA, Ann<br />

Petrovich of Danville, VA., and Mary Majensky of Akron, OH. Two Step Daughters also<br />

survive; Debbie Holland of Glasgow, PA., Bonnie Miller of Flinton, PA. He is also<br />

survived <strong>by</strong> 5 step- grandchildren, and 7 step- great grandchildren and a number of nieces<br />

and nephews. He was preceded in death <strong>by</strong> his brothers; Frank, Harry, George, Metro,<br />

Michael and Pete. Friends will be received Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9<br />

pm and on Thursday, Dec. 14 fro 8-9:30 am at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Ramey. A<br />

Panikida service will be Wed. at 7:30 pm Wed. in the funeral home <strong>by</strong> Fr. George<br />

Hnatko. Prayers of Transferal will be said at 9:30 am on Thursday in the funeral home<br />

with a Liturgy of Repose at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Smithmill, PA, at<br />

10:00 am on Thursday, December 14th, with Fr. Paul Bigelow officiating. Interment will<br />

follow in St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Cemetery Ramey, PA with Military Honors be<br />

conducted <strong>by</strong> the Janesville VFW post.<br />

BETSA, Anna (Rudiak)<br />

Anna Rudiak Betsa, 91, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Indiana<br />

Regional Medical Center. She was born May 28, 1915, in Beccarria, Clearfield County,<br />

the daughter of Frank and Nancy Pohlit Rudiak. She came to Dixonville at the age of five<br />

with her parents and attended elementary school in Dixonville and high school in Clymer.<br />

In 1929, she left for New York City where she worked for many years. When she retired,<br />

she lived in Dixonville until November 2004, when she moved to Crystal Waters<br />

Personal Care Home in Home where she resided until her death. Mrs. Betsa was a<br />

member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Dixonville. She and her<br />

husband donated the land where the present church now stands. She devoted herself to<br />

the church <strong>by</strong> serving as the cantor and choir director for approximately 50 years. On<br />

May 31, 1941, she married George Betsa. Together they operated Betsa’s Tavern in<br />

Dixonville for 43 years until they retired in 1984. Besides her duties at the tavern, she<br />

worked hard as a homemaker. She enjoyed collecting coins and sharing them with her<br />

relatives and friends. Her love of her ancestral home in Ukraine was evident <strong>by</strong> her<br />

delight in listening to the music and news of the country. She is survived <strong>by</strong> two<br />

daughters, Maureen Cornman and husband Bill, Plumville; Natalie Biggan and husband<br />

Michael, Jupiter, Fla.; two grandsons, David Cornman, Plumville; Michael Biggan,<br />

Jupiter, Fla.; two sisters, Catherine R. Patsolic, Brunswick Hills, Ohio; Helen R. Putt,<br />

Roswell, Ga.; and a brother, John Rudiak, Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents, she was<br />

preceded in death <strong>by</strong> her husband George on Nov. 21, 2002, and two sisters, Mary R.<br />

Magas in January 2003 and Eva Sivulich in August 2005. Friends will be received from 2<br />

to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Bence Funeral Home in Clymer, where a Parastas service<br />

will be held at 8 p.m. today. A Divine Liturgy will be held in her memory 10 a.m.<br />

Thursday at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church with Protopres<strong>by</strong>ter the<br />

Rev. George Hnatko the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in<br />

Dixonville. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. John the Baptist<br />

Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Dixonville, PA 15734. (Indiana Gazette, Indiana, PA,<br />
