GARBINSKY, Myron<br />

SMITHMILL-Myron Garbinsky, 74 year old local resident, died at his home here<br />

yesterday morning. Born in Austria, Oct. 27, 1874 he came to this country at an early age<br />

and had made his home here since that time. He is survived <strong>by</strong> his widow, Tresia, and the<br />

following children; John, Nick, Mike, George and Daniel, all of Ambridge, Pa., Mrs.<br />

Frederick Matschner of Pittsburgh, Millard of Upper Marlboro, Md., Joseph of Niagara<br />

Falls, N.Y., and Mrs. Mike Saupp and Pete of Smith Mills. One sister, Mrs. Homo of<br />

Ramey and two brothers, Wasco and Nick of Detroit, Mich., also survive, along with 15<br />

grandchildren. One son, Charles, preceded him in death three years ago. Funeral services<br />

will be conducted from the St. Mary's Greek Catholic Church in Ramey Monday<br />

afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. O. Kowalsky will officiate and interment will follow in the<br />

church cemetery. Friends may call at the home until time of the service. (The Progress,<br />

GARBINSKY, Thaddeus<br />

Washington Steel retiree was Trinity wrestler<br />

Thaddeus "Ted" Garbinsky, 85, of Houston, formerly of Washington, died unexpectedly<br />

Thursday, May 21, 1998. He was born October 7, 1912, in Washington, a son of Joachan<br />

and Josephine Zaworski Garbinsky. Mr. Garbinsky was a lifetime member of Holy<br />

Trinity National Catholic Church, Washington. He was a Trinity High School graduate,<br />

serving on the first winning wrestling team. He attended classes at Washington &<br />

Jefferson College and California University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Trade<br />

Unity in Pittsburgh. He worked many years for Washington Steel, retiring as<br />

maintenance supervisor in 1975. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Garbinsky was a<br />

lifetime member of Anawanda Canonsburg Sportsman and Amateur Trapshooting<br />

Association and a 50-year member of the Moose Club of Washington On October 2,<br />

1939, in Winchester, Va., he married Stella Rasefske, who survives. Also surviving are<br />

several nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family. Deceased are two<br />

brothers, Steve and John Garbinsky; four sisters, Mary Garbinsky, who died in infancy,<br />

Viola Bober, Frances Kalich and Sophie Abbas. (Observer-Reporter, Washington, PA,<br />

GAVLAK, Albert C.<br />

Mechanicsburg- Albert C. Gavlak, 59, of Mechanicsburg died Tuesday, Sept 25, 2001 at<br />

Hershey Medical Center. He was a 1960 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School and<br />

held a degree in electronic engineering. Mr. Gavlak retired in 1993 from IBM and was an<br />

employee of the Naval Depot. He was a US Army veteran and was a member of the
