CYKTICH, Stanley<br />

SMITHMILL - Divine liturgy for Stanley Cyktich, 63, of Smithmill, who died on<br />

Tuesday, March 26, 1991, at Tyrone Hospital, will be said Friday at 10 a.m. at St.<br />

Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Smithmill. The Rev. Lonhin Schemetylo will<br />

be Celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery in Ramey. The Janesville<br />

V.F.W. will conduct graveside military services. Friends will be received this evening<br />

from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Buranovsky Funeral Home in<br />

Ramey. Parastas will be said at 8 p.m. in the funeral home on Thursday <strong>by</strong> Father<br />

Schemetylo. Born May 28, 1927, in Fernwood, he was the son of John and Nancy<br />

Momhal Cyktich. He served in the Navy during W.W. II. He worked for 20 years as a<br />

coal miner for C and K Strip Mines and retired in 1980. He was a member of St.<br />

Vladimirs Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Smithmill and the Janesville V.F.W. He was<br />

preceded in death <strong>by</strong> his parents, three sisters and five brothers. He is survived <strong>by</strong> his<br />

wife of 39 years, the former Priscilla Kephart; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Cynthia) Ford<br />

of Northumberland and Mrs. Richard (Debra) Mick of Smithmill, and four grandchildren.<br />

Also surviving are these brothers and sisters, Mrs. Metro (Helen) Muhaw of Coalport<br />

R.D., Mrs. Larry (Ann) Ribelli and Joseph CyKtich, both of Mentor, Ohio, Mrs. Lloyd<br />

(Stella) Vreeland of Pine Brook, N.J., Michael of DuBois, David of York; and a number<br />

CZAP, George<br />

TYRONE - Panikhida for George Czap, 67, of 363 Jefferson St., Tyrone, who died at<br />

2:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 1997, at his residence, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday at<br />

Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg, followed <strong>by</strong> the funeral service at 10 a.m. at<br />

St. John The Baptist Orthodox Church, Hawk Run, with Rev. Fr. David Cochran<br />

officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday<br />

from 2-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Panikhida will be said at the funeral home Sunday at 8<br />

p.m. Born May 25, 1930 in Philipsburg, he was a son of the late Andrew and Anna (Sura)<br />

Czap. Mr. Czap was a 1949 graduate of Philipsburg High School and was senior class<br />

president. He was a 1953 graduate of Clarion State University with degrees in social<br />

studies and driver education. He was a four-year letterwinner and co-captain for the<br />

Clarion State University football team. He played halfback in Clarion's 1952 undefeated<br />

season and played in the 1952 Lions Bowl held at Catanba College against East Carolina<br />

University. Mr. Czap taught civics, ninth grade history and driver education for 40 years<br />

at the Tyrone Area High School. He coached golf and the junior high football team for<br />

many years, including four undefeated seasons. He was a member of St. John The Baptist<br />

Orthodox Church, Hawk Run; the B.P.O. Elks No. 1173, Philipsburg; the Philipsburg<br />

Country Club; the Pennsylvania State Educators Association; a charter member of the<br />

Gerald L. Spalding Chapter of the PIAA Basketball Officials; and a life member of the<br />

Monogram Club, Tyrone. Surviving are his wife, the former Greta L. Rorabaugh of<br />

Tyrone; five sisters, Mary Myers, Helen Beveridge, Verna Czap, and Mrs. Nick
