home. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township. The family suggests<br />

BUNGO, John A.<br />
Smithmill---John A. Bungo,48, Smithmill, was dead on arrival at the Philipsburg state<br />
General Hospital Saturday at 9 a.m. He was born June 1, 1927 at Smithmill, a son of<br />
Alex and Mary (Melnyk) Bungo. He had been employed as a coal miner and as a<br />
construction engineer. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and the<br />
Stephen Kandrach Post Veterans of Foreign Wars, Smithmill. He was a World War II<br />
Navy Veteran. Survivors include his wife, the former Elizabeth Barto, his mother Mary;<br />
two sons, Vincent of Altoona and Mark, at home; two daughters, Mrs. John (Carol Ann)<br />
Finch of Clearfield and Maria at home; a grandson Ryan Finch, three brothers, Michael<br />
of Boise Idaho; George of Indiana; and Theodore of Hersey; and three sisters; Mrs. Ann<br />
David of Philipsburg and Mrs. Christine Fleischmann and Mrs. Mary Pascucci both of<br />
the Bronx, NY. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday from<br />
Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey, with the Rev. Killian Shuman, T.O.R. as<br />
celebrant. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Graveside military services will<br />
be conducted <strong>by</strong> the Smithmill VFW Post. The Rosary will be recited at the Burnanovsky<br />
Funeral Home, Ramey, at 7 30 p.m. today. Friends will be received at the funeral home<br />

Madera--Divine Liturgy and Parastas will be sung in St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic<br />
Church, Ramey on Saturday at 10 a.m. for John E. Bungo, Jr.,68, of Madera, who died<br />
Tuesday,Dec. 12, 2000, at 11:55 p.m. at the Philipsburg Area Hospital. The Rev. Fr.<br />
James E. Poorman will be the celebrant. Friends will be received at the Kruise Funeral<br />
Home Inc. Madera, on Fri from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Sat. from 8-9:30 a.m. The family<br />
suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church,<br />

309, Smithmill, Pa.,16680. Born May 12, 1932, in Smithmill, he was the son of John E.<br />
and Tessa (Prach) Bungo, Sr. On May 28, 1988, in the city of Tonawanda, NY, he wed<br />
the former Rose (Katishen) Kitko. Mr. Bungo was a part-time employee of the Main Won<br />
Restaurant , Clearfield for the past seven years. He retired in 1987 from Consolidated<br />
Freight Ways, Buffalo, NY where he worked as a laborer. He served his country during<br />
the Korean Conflict in the US Army. He was a member of the St. Mary's Ukrainian<br />
Catholic Church, Ramey. He is survived <strong>by</strong> four sons and six daughters, John E. Bungo<br />
III, and wife, Allison, and Patrick Bungo all of Rochester, NY, Thomas and his wife,<br />
Kathy of Depew, NY Rosemary Bungo of Kenmore, NY Mrs. Philip (Carol) Stoddard of<br />
