GARBER, Margaret J (Warholic)<br />
Margaret J. Garber, 87, of Sykesville, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at home, due to a<br />
stroke. Born Aug. 5, 1926, in Donora, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Michael and<br />
Katherine Gromgo Warholic. She was the wife of Joseph Patrick Garber, her husband of<br />
63 years. She had worked in claims with the Social Security Administration. She was a<br />
member of St. Joseph Catholic Community in Eldersburg. She enjoyed craftwork and<br />
was especially known for making Ukrainian eggs. Surviving, in addition to her husband,<br />
are daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Jeff Brinkley, of Eldersburg; a sister, Nell<br />
Warholic; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Family links:<br />

GARBINSKY, Anna M (Gudzan)<br />
AMBRIDGE - Divine litergy of Christian burial for Mrs. Anna M. Garbinsky, 93, of 965<br />
Ridge Road, Ambridge, and formerly of Houtzdale, who died Sunday, June 15, at Beaver<br />
Valley Geriatric Center, Beaver, will be said Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's<br />
Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey. The Rev. James Poorman will be celebrant, and<br />
interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends will be received at the Birger A.<br />
Freeberg Funeral Home, Houtzdale, today from 2 p.m. until tomorrow at 9:30 a.m., when<br />
the procession will leave for the church. Parastas will be said today at 8 p.m. at the<br />
funeral home. Born in the Ukraine, Sept. 15, 1892, she was a daughter of John and<br />
Fannie Gudzan. She married Wasco Garbinsky, who preceded her in death on Dec. 20,<br />
1956. She was also preceded in death <strong>by</strong> her parents, one son, one brother and five<br />
sisters. Mrs. Garbinsky was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey,<br />
and the ladies auxiliary of the Smithmill VFW post. She is survived <strong>by</strong> these children:<br />
Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Tkatch, Mrs. Patrick (Susan) Hudak and Mrs. Edward (Betty) Caine,<br />
all of Ambridge, Mrs. Walter (Kay) Hummel of Zelienople, Mrs. Anna Mock of San<br />
Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Michael (Helen) Patkilitsky of Houtzdale, Margaret Nadzak of<br />
Tyrone, Mrs. Mildred Miller of Avenelle, N.J., Mrs. Dorothy Gross and Jack, both of<br />
Palm River, N.J., and Ugene of Shuldenberg, Texas. Also surviving are 35 grandchildren,<br />
17 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren.<br />
GARBINSKY, John<br />
John Garbinsky, 78, of 1005 Short St., Ambridge, died Wednesday March 9, 1983, in<br />
Sewickley Valley Hospital, following a brief illness. Born June 6, 1904, in Smith Mill,<br />
Pa. son of the late Myron and Theresa Saupp Garbinsky he was a resident of Ambridge<br />
the past 55 yrs, a retired employee of the American Bridge Co., Ambridge, where he had<br />
39yrs of service, retiring in 1966. He was the founder and past President of St. Vladimir<br />
Ukrainian Orthodox Church; Ambridge, secretary of the UNNA Lodge 108, Ambridge , a<br />
member of UWA branch 5, Ambridge and the UNA branch 276 Ambridge. Surviving are<br />
his wife, Kathryn Slipko Garbinsky; a son John M., at home; five grandchildren; five<br />
brothers, Michael, Sunrise, Fla; Millard; Upper Marlboro, Md.,Joseph, Ft Lauderdale, Fl.,<br />
Peter Houtzdale Pa, and Daniel, Akron, Oh., and two sisters Mrs. Fred(Ann) Matschner,<br />
Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. Michael (Mary) Saupp, Smith Mill, Pa., He was preceded in<br />
death <strong>by</strong> daughter Irene Roman in 1962. Friends will be received today and Friday from<br />
2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the John J. Syka Funeral Home, 833 Kennedy Dr., Ambridge, where<br />
a service will be conducted Saturday at 9 a.m. followed <strong>by</strong> a funeral service at St.
