BUNGO, Lois Jeanne (McQuown)<br />
Lois Jeanne Bungo, 73, of Osceola Mills Lois Jeanne Bungo, 73, of Osceola Mills, died<br />
Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at home. Born Dec. 1, 1928, in Pittsburg, Calif., she was a<br />
daughter of the late Charles and Victoria Benovic McQuown. On Aug. 30, 1948, in<br />
Houtzdale, she married Samuel S. Bungo Sr., who died on March 8, 1990. She was a<br />
graduate of the Houtzdale-Woodward Joint High School in Houtzdale. She was a<br />
homemaker. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of American Court St. Victoria<br />
646 in Houtzdale and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution<br />
Moshannon Chapter. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in<br />
Osceola Mills, where she was a member of the church Altar Rosary Society. She is<br />
survived <strong>by</strong> two daughters, Lois Jeanne Olsen and her husband, Dr. David Olsen, of<br />
Bartlesville, Okla., and Rose Marie Vasbinder and her husband, Curtis Vasbinder, of<br />
Little Suamico, Wis.; three sons, Charles T. Bungo, D.M.D., and his wife, Judith Ann, of<br />
Clearfield; the Rev. Samuel S. Bungo Jr., of Frenchville; and Christopher P. Bungo, at<br />
home; and two grandchildren, Judith Jeanne "JJ" Bungo and Charles T. Bungo II. In<br />
addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death <strong>by</strong> a daughter,<br />
Ramona Anne Bungo, and a brother, John McQuown. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m.<br />
and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Heath Funeral Home, 701 Lingle St. in Osceola Mills. A<br />
Christian Vigil Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A Rosary will<br />
be recited <strong>by</strong> the Catholic Daughters of American Court St. Victoria 646 at 3:30 p.m.<br />
Tuesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.<br />
Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, with the Rev.<br />
Samuel S. Bungo Jr. as celebrant assisted <strong>by</strong> the Rev. Gregory Kirsch. Burial will be in<br />

Smithmill - Metro Bungo, 64, a resident of Smithmill, died yesterday at 6:40 p.m.<br />
following an illness of one month. Born July 11, 1892, in Austria, he came to this country<br />
48 years ago. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of<br />
America. Mr. Bungo is survived <strong>by</strong> 14 children: Mrs. Martin (Anne) Giza and Mrs.<br />
Andrew (Christina) Deao, both of Morann; Mrs. William (Sue) Russian, Pittsburgh; Mrs.<br />
Casmer (Olga) Switala, Ginter; Mrs. Bob (Irene) Shultz, Miss Stella Bungo, Charles,<br />
John, Stanley, Pete, Sam, Mike and Walter, all of Cleveland; and Boyd of Smithmill; 17<br />
grandchildren; and one brother, John Bungo, Smithmill. His wife, Catherine, preceded<br />
him in death two years ago. Funeral services will be held Monday morning from the St.<br />
Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Smithmill in charge of Rev. Peter Kieluch.<br />
