N.Y.; four daughters: Mrs. Ronald (Elizabeth) Boehm, Clarence, N.Y.; Mrs. Frank<br />

(Anna) Shimp, Blairsville R.D. 1; Mrs. Wayne (Mary) King, North Tonawanda, N.Y.;<br />

Mrs. John (Helen) Uhrin, North Tonawanda, N.Y.; a brother Mike Barna,<br />

Czechoslovakia; three sisters; Mrs. Andy (Anna) Baelk, Windsor, Ontario, and two<br />

sisters in Czechoslovakia; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends will be<br />

received from 7-9 p.m. Thuirsday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Robinson-Lytle’s,<br />

Indiana. Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Fr.<br />

Josephat Popovich officiating. Interment will be held in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Indiana.<br />

Parastas services will be held Friday at 7 at the funeral home. (Indiana Gazette, Indiana,<br />

BARNA, Mary (Varholick)<br />

Mary Varholick Barna, 94, of Clarence, N.Y. formerly of Blairsville RD 5, died Monday,<br />

March 30, 1998, in Clarence, N.Y. The daughter of Demeter and Anna Libovania<br />

Warholick, she was birn Jan. 4, 1904 in Czechoslovakia. She was of the Catholic faith.<br />

Surviving are two brothers: Frank Varholick, Homer City, and Joe Varholick, Cleveland,<br />

Ohio; four sisters: Mrs. Anna Bazala, Chicago; Mrs. Sue Regetz, Mansville, N.J.; Mrs.<br />

Helen Yensco, Flint, Mich.; and Mrs. Pauline Burl, Green Valley, Ariz.; 14<br />

grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, and one greatgreat-great-granddaughter.<br />

She was preceded in death <strong>by</strong> her parents, first husband John<br />

Chelosky, who died in 1931; second husband, George Barna, who died in 1979; two sons,<br />

John and Michael Chelosky; and four daughters; Helen Uhrin, Anna Shimp, Mary King,<br />

and Elizabeth Boehm. Friends will be received at the Richard L. Shoemaker Funeral<br />

Home, Blairsville, from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday, when a prayer service will be held<br />

with Father Elmer A. Kacinko officiating. Interment will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in<br />

BANKOWSKY, Helen (Lazeration)<br />

Helen (Lazeration) Bankosky, 86, formerly of Hicksville, NY and Ginter, PA passed<br />

away Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 5:35 am at the Allegheny Lutheran Home of<br />

Hollidaysburg, PA. Mrs. Bankosky was born in Janesville, PA on February 27, 1920, the<br />

daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Lashinsky) Lazeration. She was a member of St.<br />

Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church Ramey, PA. She was employed as a Vice President of<br />

Quality Control at B & H Aircraft, Long Island, NY., for 20 years. She was a member of<br />

the American Cake and Candy Decorating Society of New York. On Dec. 6, 1938 in<br />

Maryland she married Andy Bankosky, he preceded her in death on July 12, 1985. She is<br />

survived <strong>by</strong> a son and daughter-in-law Richard P. Bankosky and his wife Barbara of<br />

Garden City, NY. A granddaughter, Kara Bankosky of Garden City, NY also survives.<br />

The following brothers and sisters survive Mrs. Bankosky; Mary Bendas of Altoona, PA.,<br />

Christine Bendas of Altoona, PA., Madlyn Kechisen of Twinsburg, OH., Ann Daniel and<br />

her husband Paul of Henderson, PA, Frank Lazeration and his wife Mary of Houtzdale,<br />

PA., John Lazeration and his wife Esther of Ginter, PA., and Paul Lazeration and his wife<br />

Joann of Linden, NJ. A number of nieces and nephews also survive Mrs. Bankosky. She<br />

was preceded in death <strong>by</strong> two sisters, Susan Wasilko and Kathryn Lazeration and a<br />

brother George Lazeration. Friends will be received Sunday, July 23, 2006 from 1-5 pm<br />

and on Monday, July 24, 2006 from 9-10:30 am at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. 2550
