Church, Central City, and attended Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Scalp Level. The<br />

family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at The Dalla Valle Funeral<br />

Home, Windber, where brief service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed <strong>by</strong><br />

funeral service at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, the Rev. Jacquelyn DePhillips,<br />

pastor, officiating. Entombment at All Faiths Chapel and Mausoleum, Windber. Those<br />

who wish may make contributions to Regional Hospice at Windber in memory of Mrs.<br />

EVANOCHKO, Catherine "Katie" (Solinsky)<br />

Madera -- Catherine "Katie" Evanochko, 83, of Madera died at 5 p.m. Monday, May 21,<br />

2001, at Clearfield Hospital. Born May 12, 1918 in Wood she was a daughter of Michael<br />

and Nancy (Dravitsky) Solinsky. Mrs. Evanochko was a home maker and was a<br />

parishioner of St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Madera. She is survived <strong>by</strong> a daughter, Mrs.<br />

James (Rose M.) Reitmyer of Madera; five grandchildren, Cathy, James, Pam, Tina and<br />

Sarah; nine great grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two great great<br />

granddaughters; four sisters, Anna Moskel of Madera, Mary Cuttner of Aliquippa, Mrs.<br />

Leo (Julia) Grattan of Pittsburgh and Susan Couperthwaite of Maurmee, Ohio; and<br />

numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death <strong>by</strong> her parents, her husband<br />

Joseph Evanochko and six brothers, John, Wasco, Metro, Charles, Frank and Pete.<br />

Services will be held at 1 pm Thursday at St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Madera with Fr.<br />

Gregory Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, Madera. Friends<br />

will be received from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.<br />

Thursday at Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Madera. Parastas will be sung at 8 30 p.m.<br />

Wednesday in the funeral home <strong>by</strong> Fr. Lewis. The family suggests memorial<br />

contributions be made to St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Madera. ( The Progress,<br />

EVCIC, Edward<br />

Edward Evcic, 87, Clinton, MD passed away at 1:55 PM, Monday, January 21, 2013 at<br />

Bradford Oaks Nursing Home, Clinton, MD. He was born on April 19, 1925 at Smoke<br />

Run, a son of the late Martin and Ru<strong>by</strong> (Belin) Evcic. Edward was a parishioner of St.<br />

John Evangelist Catholic Church, Clinton, MD and a member of the Croatian Fraternal<br />

Union and AARP. Edward retired in 1994, after 19 years as a carpenter foreman at D.C.<br />

General Hospital, Washington, D.C. Prior to that he worked as a coal miner, a truck<br />

driver and a machinist. On Nov. 17, 1956, in the former St. Barbara Catholic Church,<br />

Houtzdale, Edward married Mary F. Kasubick Evcic, she preceded him in death on Aug.<br />

12, 2005. Edward is survived <strong>by</strong> a daughter, Linda Evcic of Clinton, MD and a number of<br />

nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Edward was preceded in death<br />

<strong>by</strong> four brothers, Joseph, Steve, Victor and Frank Evcic and two sisters, Anna Nalepa and<br />

Frances Reynak. Edward enjoyed Polka Music and Traveling. Friends will be received at<br />

the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc, Ramey on Thursday , Jan. 24 from 7-9 PM, Friday Jan. 25<br />

from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM. Mass of Christian<br />

Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 10:00 AM in Holy Trinity Catholic
