handled Merritt'pretty good in sparring,Althugh JQ pretty much did in all his
sparmates,"Windmill White" Comes to mind when he was a heavy, for some reason
Jerry took it easy, then the "Windmill" started his, punches behind the back
routine, WHICH then Jerry cornered him AND broke his ribs, also John,Machen
never beat Boone Kirkman,It was Doug Jones, whom Boone ko'd in a rematch, I think
Boone retired 35-6,I knew he beat Ellis,But never beat a top ten fighter, who was
world ranked at the time, take care!|
You're right about Jones vs. Kirkman, sorry to post misinformation. It's funny,
but I always get Jones, Machen, Folley, and Williams confused. Williams was the
biggest puncher of the group, guess. I think the low point of Machen's career
was walking into Ingo's Bingo in round 1. |
Birthday, Jerry. We both share May 15th as our birthday, but you have 5 years on
me. Hang in there, buddy. I'll be up to see you some day.|
Kirkman. A three round loss.|
response..Pretty rare when a pro has to hit a guy but like u said he had to
defend himself..Remember when Tyson hit Mitch Green?, Green's eye looked like a
baseball bat hit it and Tysons fist was like swollen double in size. Lot in
those heavyweight fists...oh BTW i saw a little tib bit on JQ's first fight with
Ali.. it said Ali had such concern he had special sparring partners flown in
that could duplicate Jerrys left hook.|
the chance very often to get on here, but I like for the Quarry family and
Jerry's fan's to know I have not forgotten them. As of yet I still don't own a
computer. I just like to say that I feel that James Quarry knew more about Jerry
than anyone. I'd like to know which one of the Quarry family would be willing to
answer my questions about jerry? The more I find out about Jerry , the more I
want to know. I tried to be like Jerry as much as I could, BUT I SURE AS HELL
COULD NEVER BE AS TOUGH! Hey, kent how are you doing?|
what's up? I sent you an E mail a few weeks ago. I hope if you answered, I
didn't delete it by mistake. I get so much junk mail, sometimes I just hit the
delete button and every once in while I miss something I wanted to open. Hey,
drop me a line. GEORGE OTTO, it was nice to see your name in the comments
regarding Alex Ramos' letter to the teamsters that was posted over on the home
page of Eastside Boxing. You and Alex deserve a lot of credit for tying to make
