the Mesi verses Barrett fight and I called it a draw with Mesi winning the first
half and Barrett winning the second half. Both scored knockdowns. The judges
gave Mesi the win by a slight margin by majority decision. One judge scored it
for Mesi, one had it for Barrett, and the third judge called it a
draw.Mesi has a long way to go before he should try for the title.|
fearless leaders club). They were holding up Jerry's Alleged $1000 until Moe had
to threaten them with a law suit for that Aurora,Colorado (HOLIDAY INN)QUARRY-
CRANMER farce.Jerry just missed a whistling left hook to start the bout, and that
kid's head would have been found somewhere in the cheap seats.Jerry was so
exhausted and cut, that he would not sit down between the 5th and the 6th
rounds,But he would not let the referee stop it,THERE'S NO QUIT IN A QUARRY!! I
still say the hoodlums responsible should be "bench warmers" for Jose Conseco's
all "ORANGE" SOFTBALL TEAM.to Bad former excellant welterweight James "Bubba"
Busceme, whom my buddy Johnny Copeland upset with a KO.In Busceme's first pro
loss,is not still working for the ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS. He would know all the
dirt on that travesty. TAKE CARE!|
deserve the decision ?|
I made a mistake on telling you how the judges scored the Mesi verses Barrett
fight. Two judges scored it for Mesi, by a margin of one and two points,
respectively. The third judge scored it a draw. It was a very close fight and I
didn't see a clear winner, hence my own score as a draw.If anyone is
interested, my name and my picks for tonight's Hopkins verses Joppy middleweight
title fight card, which also features, Mayorga verses C.Spinks and Rahman verses
Ruiz, is in the article, "Media picks for The Night of the Undisputed" on the
Eastside Boxing homepage. I am one of the writers in the nationwide poll that
also has picks of some writers from other coutries as well.CHARLES, YOU
I haven't seen all of the two knockdown Frazier-Bonavena fight, no. From
what I've read, Joe was caught, but beat on Bonavena like a heavy bag the rest
of the fight. In his 15 round fight with OB, I read where he fainted from
exhaustion in the dressing room later. Here's a thought I had, just for
fun - I'm sure Ron Cramner has gone through his life bragging that he beat up
Jerry Quarry. Probably Trevor Berbick has done the same re Ali, and even Jumbo
Cummings for getting a draw (bogus) against Joe Frazier. The question is: would
an inferior fighter going against an over the hill once top boxer be an even
match? Would they have bragging rights, via a handicap system? :-?Great
