power. When he fought Shavers at the garden he looked over at him and Don King
who was Shavers manager at the time and gave them that scowl and thumbs down and
then went out and knocked him out. |

suing Stallone. My guess is Wepner is broke and hopes that Stallone will settle
out of court just to get rid of the nuisance. Stallone never used Wepner’s name
to promote the movie. He merely said he got the idea of Rocky from watching the
Ali-Wepner fight. He said he remembers seeing how the crowd reacted to the
"knockdown" and thought if he could capture the excitement of an underdog doing
surprisingly well, it would translate into a good movie. Wepner is claiming that
he never authorized Stallone to use his name to promote the movie. What a load
of crap. Like Wepner’s name could sell a movie. Yeah, right.|

remember Stallone using Wepner's name at all to promote his movie Rocky. He may
have said that he got his idea for the story from the Ali vs. Wepner fight but
that is different than using Wepner's name for advertising. Other than the
basic idea of an underdog fighting hard, the story has nothing to do with Wepner
at all. Wepner should be honored Stallone was inspired to come up with an idea,
he shouldn't be suing Stallone.Stallone has often said the Rocky idea
had a lot to do with his own status as an actor trying to break into the big
time as he was an underdog with the odds against him. Does this mean he should
sue himself? Of course not! That is how ridiculas the Wepner suit is.
Also, just because there are scenes that show Rocky working in a meat
packing house, this has nothing to do with Joe Frazier's life as Stallone picked
this setting because the Rocky character needed a place to work when he was out
of money (in the second movie). I have never heard of Joe Frazier ever punching
sides of beef as Rocky is shown during training in the first Rocky movie.
Stallone very well may have never knew when he was writing the Rocky story that
Frazier worked in a meat packing houseWepner has no case and while I
have not heard about Joe Frazier suing Stallone, he wouldn't have a case
either.|

jerry fighting patterson twice,spencer. and i thought jerry was very fast with
his hands; great counter puncher. i lived and died with every time he
fought.hindsight is always 20-20 but if jerry had hooked up with clancy earlier
i truly believe boxing history would have been different.|
