fighters get their due. Ernie Lopez was an exiting fighter that I had almost
forgotten about and reading the story about him brought back a lot of memories
of him and his brother Danny. The Norton-Spinks thing...Michael would have
given Norton all he could handle but Leon, he just couldn't take a heavyweight
punch, and Leon took a lot of punches. Leon took the title from a guy that was
in the begining stages of what he suffers from now, and should have not been in
the ring at all. Not taking anything away from Leon, I watched him during the
Olympics and he was a thrilling fighter but had he fought Holmes, Norton or
Ernie Shavers the night he beat Ali he would have soundly thrashed. He was in
the right place at the right time. Massimo, my favorite foot fetishest, who had
the smallest shoe size amoung the heavyweight champs? I beleive it was another
Italian guy?|
haven't had too many wordl heavyweight champs... Only 2: Primo Carnera and
Francesco Damiani ( WBO). I' ll try to discover Damiani' s shoe
size. But, for now, all I can say is that Kareem Abdul Jabbar' s shoe
size is 16. Kareem in person said that ! I wonder, what's Warren Coolidge's shoe
size ?|
|3/7/04 04:16:23 PM|Massimo|4||Roma||||10|I think that Tommy Burns was the
heavyweightchamp with the smallest shoe size.|
MASSIMO SINCE HIS SHOE SIZE AND YOUR I.Q. ARE THE SAME NUMBER|
|3/7/04 04:57:49 PM|Kent|La Habra, Ca||kentallenent@aol.com||||10|Bob, you are
right, L. Spinks was too easy to hit. He actually fought Holmes and he was in
great shape, weighing about 198, a good weight for him. He came charging out
and he tagged Holmes with some good shots but Holmes knocked him out in the
third round. Also, in Spinks' bout after losing the title to Ali in Ali/Spinks
2, Spinks came charging out hard against Gerrie Coetzee only to be knocked down
three times in the first round, losing by first round Kayo to
Coetzee.Norton could have likely done the same thing to L. Spinks but
even if it lasted longer, I can't see L. Spinks outpointing Norton. Right again
Bob, Norton verses M. Spinks would have been a difficult fight for Norton.
Massimo, I think maybe Bob Fitzsimmons had the smallest shoe size among
heavyweight champions.|
|3/7/04 05:37:22 PM|Massimo|Roma||4||||10|KooKoo-You just can' t accept
that you' re interested in shoe sizes... Be honest with yourself, old man ! It
ain' t difficult !|
whole lot of trouble with Michael Spinks,I might have pulled Spinks purse on
that one,or better yet pulled the promoters purse. Spinks was intimadated right
out of his shoes, I'm not real sure,he even got hit!!One thing about Jerry that
he definetly would have going for him in a bout with "IRON MIKE" they
intimadation factor would not have come into play. It might have been real
interesting, especially considering Jerry among other things was an accomplished
boxer when he was so inclined to do so.I can't see either Spinks ever beating
Norton,Kenny was only knocked out by the best of sluggers,Young Jose Luis Garcia
had a hell of a wallop, who had enormous potential and fast 6'4" 190 lbs. of
course two of the best of alltime FOREMAN,SHAVERS.And not exactly an alltime
great, but a great left hook Gerry Cooney,Norton was to long in the tooth for
that one,And my money's on Norton prime for prime|
