integran. El siguiente cuadro ilustra esta situación:
In the Villazón area, later on took place the granitoid intrusions and
the dynamothermal effects of the Pensamiento Granitoid
Complex, of the San Ignacio Orogeny. The activity and effects of
the latter will be discussed as follows.
South of Puerto Villarroel is the Huanchaca Ridge. Here, the San
Ignacio Supergroup has a similar development, although in this
sector, local names were adopted for the groups that are part of it.
This situation is illustrated by the following table:
grupos La Bella (descrita lineas arriba) y Naranjal.
The Primavera and Dalriada groups outcrop as megaxenoliths
within the Pensamiento Granitoid Complex, pertaining also to low
metamorphic grade sedimentary, volcanosedimentary, and metasedimentary
rocks.
The Primavera Group (Litherland et al., 1982) is made up by an
arkosic sequence, schists, quartzites and meta-sandstones, all
incorporated as large bodies withing the Pensamiento granitoids.
Above the former, the Dalriada Group (Litherland et al., 1982) is
made up by metaquartzites, phyllites and low grade metavolcanites.
The sequence above is affected by the San Ignacio Orogeny.
In the Concepción, San Javier, and San Ramón area, lying over the
Chiquitanía Complex is the San Ignacio Supergroup (Litherland et
al., 1979), to which the La Bella (described above) and Naranjal
groups were initially attributed. In view of the considerations
included at the end of the description of the Chiquitanía Group,
only the Naranjal Group will be described in this section.
According to the author of its name, the Naranjal Group (Fletcher
et al., 1979) features a succession of argillaceous and arenacous
sediments that were affected by a low grade metamorphism which
formed phyllites, metasamites and schists. The Naranjal Group
comprises the following units: at the base, the Sutó Formation
(Fletcher et al., 1979), made up by greenish feldspathic quartzites,
alternated by micaceous quartzites, lithic meta-arenites and gray
phyllites. The La Honda Formation (Fletcher et al., 1979) is made
up by gray or greenish phyllites with bands interbedded by blackish
feldspathic quartzites and micaceous quartzites. This unit contains
metavolcanic rock horizons, such as tuffs and basaltic flows, and
volcanoclastic rocks. The sequence ends with the Santa Rosa
Formation (Fletcher et al., 1979), which is made up by a series of
