Manfred Felsner and his family cultivate<br />
16 hectares (40 acres) in some<br />
of the best vineyards around Gedersdorf<br />
and Rohrendorf. Their goals can be<br />
summarized by three essential elements: regional<br />
authenticity, varietal character and<br />
terroir. Since taking over the family winery in<br />
<strong>19</strong>90, Manfred concentrates on the expression<br />
of the typical fruitiness of the Kremstal<br />
wine region as well as pronounced varietal<br />
character. New vines stem from shoots of the<br />
best old vines building a selective foundation<br />
for quality. Manfred Felsner is an uncompromising<br />
advocate of the philosophy of terroir<br />
and sustainable viticulture. The primary goal<br />
of this Grüner Veltliner specialist is to highlight<br />
the versatility of this autochthonuos variety.<br />
The Felsner Grüner Veltliner vines<br />
thrive on well-exposed terraced vineyards<br />
with either ancient loess or calcareous conglomerate<br />
