Michael Auer took over responsibility<br />
for the winery from his grandfather in<br />
2008. Because the winery had focused<br />
primarily on the production and sale of wines<br />
by the barrel, there were naturally many things<br />
that he had to change, such as reducing yields<br />
and increasing manual labour in the vineyard.<br />
Making wines with heart and soul became his<br />
life’s calling. The young vintner is convinced<br />
that he has taken the right path. “It’s essential<br />
to keep an eye on the important things and not<br />
to forget the details. This attention is the key to<br />
balanced wine. It is the ABC of the vine, work<br />
that is never really complete, that will bring me<br />
great pleasure and fulfilment in life.”<br />
