Walter Skoff, known among the pundits<br />
as “Mr. Sauvignon”, is with his<br />
over thirty years experience one of<br />
the top vintners in Südsteiermark. In 2017, the<br />
Concours Mondial du Sauvignon honoured<br />
the Sauvignon Blanc Kranachberg 2015 as<br />
world champion, catapulting Walter Skoff<br />
into the league of top Sauvignon Blanc producers<br />
in the world. This is the producer’s<br />
greatest success to date. His masterpieces are<br />
awarded national and international accolades<br />
each year and Skoff can count over 800<br />
awards received over the past 30 years, 300 of<br />
which are gold medals. Despite this, it is this<br />
title as world champion that crowns his path<br />
of success and inspires his continued euphoria<br />
for wine. Walter Skoff also won two gold and<br />
five silver medals the world’s largest international<br />
wine competition, the AWC. Of particular<br />
mention is that it was the vintage 2014<br />
Sauvignon Blanc Royal and Sauvignon Blanc<br />
Obegg that achieved the gold medals. Walter<br />
Skoff’s winery has 13 top sites with different<br />
terroirs that yield special wines with unique<br />
