The cornerstone for the current Wagentristl<br />
winery was laid by the great-great-<br />
-grandparents Johann and Julianna<br />
Wagentristl in the year 1888. She brought the<br />
“Hof Nr. 135” in Grosshöflein with her into<br />
the marriage. In the following decades, the<br />
family increasingly practiced viticulture. Slowly,<br />
but surely first animal husbandry was abandoned<br />
and then agricultural crops as wine cultivation<br />
became the central focus. In the<br />
course of time “Hof Nr. 135” became the winery<br />
that now stands in the Rosengasse. The estate<br />
vineyards are located on the gentle slopes<br />
of the Leitha Mountains and its foothills. A<br />
unique combination of soils and the special<br />
macroclimate of the region form an incomparable<br />
terroir found nowhere else. “I am a fan<br />
of clear lines and I also follow this in the vinification<br />
of my wines. I strive to create wines<br />
with inimitable character, wines with both<br />
power and finesse. I want to provide others as<br />
well as myself pleasure with these wines,” says<br />
vintner Rudi Wagentristl.<br />

Pale green-yellow with silver highlights. Delicate litchi nuances,<br />
chamomile and subtle lavender comprise a highly<br />
attractive bouquet. Carambola, quince and subtle oak<br />
spice flavour a powerful, juicy body. The finish is very long,<br />
lemony and mineral and ends with a kiss of nougat. A highly<br />

Dark ruby with purple highlights and a thin transparent<br />
rim. Blackberry, lingonberry and dark cherry over a background<br />
of peppery spice. Complex with firm tannins integrated<br />
in sweet fruit. Salty notes join in on the finish. Good<br />
ageing potential.<br />
