restrained – delicate nuances of apple and pear mingle<br />
with a touch of orange zest and mineral notes. Juicy apple<br />
fruit flavours a round texture and is highlighted by a fine<br />
spine of acid. A touch of honey and pleasant minerals linger<br />

The Steininger family has established a<br />
unique Austrian sparkling wine philosophy<br />
with its production of single-varietal<br />
vintage sparkling wines with Kamptal regional<br />
character. The key factor to their success is the<br />
use of the finest base wines that display clearly<br />
defined, fragrant fruit as well as fine mousse derived<br />
from a gentle second fermentation in the<br />
bottle. These two factors come together to express<br />
varietal character and enhance the flavour<br />
profile of each base wine.<br />
The single-vineyard sparkling wines “Riesling<br />
Ried Heiligenstein”, “Weissburgunder<br />
Ried Panzaun”, and “Grüner Veltliner Ried<br />
Steinhaus” are prime examples where the variety<br />
and terroir stand in the foreground. The<br />
same quality consciousness is displayed in the<br />
production of still wines. The focus is dedicated<br />
to Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. The<br />
signature style is, just as with the sparkling<br />
wines, clear, proud, and expressive. The winery’s<br />
most important vineyards are the Loisiumweingarten<br />
and Kittmannsberg for Grüner<br />
Veltliner and Steinhaus and Seeberg for Riesling.<br />
The vinification facility of the Steininger<br />
winery is integrated in the Loisium wine experience<br />
centre. Visitors follow the path of<br />
grapes through their evolution to wine and<br />
can look over the shoulder of the winemaker<br />
as he works. The Loisium <strong>Wine</strong> and Spa Hotel<br />
is a luxurious accommodation that more<br />
than adequately meets the desires of wine-loving<br />
travellers.<br />

Full-bodied, yet elegant with a fine acid structure and delicate<br />
fruit sweetness. Harmonious and versatile. This single-vineyard<br />
Pinot Blanc sparkling has good potential for<br />
further development.<br />
