dedicated to Burgundian varieties, a rosé from
Pale green-yellow with silver highlights. Delicate yellow apple,
orange zest, apricot and blossom honey. Juicy acidity
discreetly highlights the delicate fruit sweetness. Nicely balanced
and mineralic. A touch of orange joins in on the finish.
NIGL
The Nigl Winery is situated at the entrance
to the hamlet of Senftenberg at
the foot of the Burgberg. The winery
possesses over 25 vineyard hectares in premium
Kremstal sites that are distributed between
Senftenberg, Rehberg and Krems. The most
important sites are Pellingen, planted with
Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, and Hochäcker,
planted with Riesling. The flagship series at
Nigl carries the label “Privat”. The fruit for
both “Privat” bottlings is sourced from old
vines in the Senftenberger Pellingen vineyard.
Forty-year-old vines growing on meagre primary
rock bring tiny yields of exceptional
quality. Vintage for vintage, two great wines of
striking concentration and mineral character
that are worthy of extended bottle ageing are
vinified.
Stuart Pigott says of Martin Nigl’s wines,
“From the most simple wine to the highest
peak, Nigl’s white wines are crystal clear and
