Pale green-yellow with silver highlights. Yellow apple
and quince with a touch of walnut and blossom honey in
the background. Juicy pear and sweet extract are bedded
in a creamy texture and framed in a well integrated
acid structure. The very long finish of this Pinot Blanc is
not the only thing that indicates extraordinary ageing
potential.
WEINKULTUR
PREISS
Weinkultur Preiß has a history of
more than 100 years. Originally a
mixed agriculture enterprise, the
family enterprise today specializes in viticulture
and fruit orchards. Family Preiß cultivates
around eleven hectares of fruit trees and twelve
hectares of vineyard in the vicinity of Theyern.
The vineyards comprise mainly terraces based
on glacial calcareous conglomerate covered
partially with deep loess deposit. The high lime
content in this soil lends wines an inimitable
style. Complex, unmistakably mineral wines
with backbone, finesse and authenticity are
produced. Medium-high vine trunk, high leaf
canopy, high planting density and rigorous
yield reduction are further pillars of quality cultivation.
Grüner Veltliner dominates the assortment
of grapes with a share of 60 %; Riesling
and Zweigelt follow with 10 % each. Other
specialties like Chardonnay and Gelber Muskateller
(Muscat Blanc à petits grains) are also included
in the offerings. The goal in vinification
