19. Widows/Widowers <strong>of</strong> Service personnel who have died in Service. Widows <strong>of</strong><br />
Service personnel whose spouse/civil partners died in Service, may, on expiry <strong>of</strong> their<br />
entitlement to SFA (para 0339), apply to occupy temporarily surplus SFA at the market<br />
rate.<br />
20. Estranged families in UK on expiry <strong>of</strong> the 93 days notice period. An alternative<br />
occupancy agreement at the market rate may be <strong>of</strong>fered to estranged spouse/civil partners<br />
on expiry <strong>of</strong> the 93 days notice to vacate.<br />
21. Civilian contractor staff. Married(or those in a civil partnership) Contract staff employed<br />
on Base in a permanent capacity and deemed suitable by virtue <strong>of</strong> the<br />
grade/nature/clearance <strong>of</strong> their employment, by the Local Service Commander in<br />
consultation with the HASC may apply to occupy surplus SFA on payment <strong>of</strong> the market<br />
rate.<br />
22. Recently retired or redundant Service personnel. In order to help with adjusting<br />
to civilian life or for the purpose <strong>of</strong> house hunting, surplus SFA may be allocated to<br />
recently retired or redundant Service personnel for a maximum period <strong>of</strong> 6 months on<br />
payment <strong>of</strong> the market rate.<br />
23. Other Civilians (non-crown employees). At the discretion <strong>of</strong> the HASC in<br />
conjunction with the Local Service Commander, individual lettings <strong>of</strong> surplus SFA may be<br />
made to any acceptable civilian applicants with resident families. These essentially<br />
'civilian lettings' will be in accordance with the terms and conditions <strong>of</strong> the appropriate<br />
occupancy agreement.<br />
NON ENTITLED RATE<br />
24. Foreign and Commonwealth Service Personnel. Foreign and Commonwealth<br />
personnel pay the non entitled rate (as set by Fin Pol), unless they are on exchange<br />
appointments with UK Forces or subject to reciprocal training agreements or Memoranda<br />
<strong>of</strong> Understanding which specify that charges other than the non entitled rate will apply.<br />
DISCRETIONARY RATE<br />
25. Council <strong>of</strong> Voluntary Welfare Workers (CVWW). CVWWs in direct support <strong>of</strong><br />
Service units may apply for occupation <strong>of</strong> surplus SFA on payment <strong>of</strong> the appropriate<br />
discretionary rate decided by the Local Service Commander.<br />
