Accommodation to occupy SFA. Other occupants do not normally affect the size <strong>of</strong> SFA,<br />

however, subject to availability and where circumstances permit, the applicant may be<br />

allocated a larger SFA by DIO Ops Accommodation on payment <strong>of</strong> the appropriate charge<br />

for the Type <strong>of</strong> SFA occupied. In the case <strong>of</strong> single parents PStatCat2 and PStatCat1<br />

couples when both partners are serving who need to employ a full time nanny/au pair<br />

specifically for child care, DIO Ops Accommodation is to allocate SFA which has sufficient<br />

bedrooms so that the full time nanny/au pair may be accommodated in their own bedroom.<br />

9. Visitors. Occupants may have visitors in addition to the permitted occupants to<br />

stay at the property on a temporary basis only. These visits are to be no more than 28<br />

days (aggregated or continuous) in any 93 day period unless permission has been<br />

obtained from DIO in consultation with the Local Service Commander.<br />

10. Allocation. The point at which the formal letter informing the applicant <strong>of</strong> a specific<br />

property that is being <strong>of</strong>fered, is sent by the HASC.<br />

11. Move In. The point at which the applicant or proxy takes physical control <strong>of</strong> the<br />

property which is determined by possession <strong>of</strong> the keys.<br />

12. Occupation. The point at which the applicant, or their family moves into the<br />

property.<br />

13. Move Out. The point at which the applicant or proxy relinquishes physical control <strong>of</strong><br />

the property by handing back the keys to the appointed DIO Ops Accommodation<br />

representative at the Move Out appointment.<br />

14. Initial training. Initial Training is defined as:<br />

a. Other Ranks. The initial new entry training which, when completed, enables<br />

the recipient to progress on to trade or specialist training.<br />

b. Officers. The initial <strong>of</strong>ficer training <strong>of</strong> each Service which is common to all new<br />

entrant <strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>of</strong> that Service regardless <strong>of</strong> their future specialisation.<br />

15. DA – Disturbance Allowance<br />

16. Guards Corridor. SFA located within 10 miles <strong>of</strong> any <strong>of</strong> the four duty stations <strong>of</strong><br />

Westminster, Hounslow, Windsor and Aldershot.<br />
