TYPES OF SFA<br />
0206. Types <strong>of</strong> SFA. Types <strong>of</strong> SFA are as follows:<br />

a. Officers. Type I - V<br />
b. Other Ranks. Type D - B<br />
A summary <strong>of</strong> SFA entitlements by Officers and Other Ranks Type is at Annex B to<br />
Chapter 3.<br />
0207. Tied/Ex-Officio SFA. Certain designated individuals/groups <strong>of</strong> personnel are<br />
entitled to tied/ex <strong>of</strong>ficio SFA by virtue <strong>of</strong> their appointments:<br />
a. Tied SFA. Tied SFA refers to specific properties designated for occupation by<br />
incumbents (being an entitled person defined in Chapter 3, paras 0301 and 0302) <strong>of</strong><br />
particular posts for the duration <strong>of</strong> their appointments. The appointments concerned<br />
are to be confirmed by the Local Service Commander and agreed with DIO Ops<br />
Accommodation, thereby enabling particular properties to be ‘tied’ to respective<br />
appointments.<br />
b. Ex-<strong>of</strong>ficio SFA. Ex-<strong>of</strong>ficio SFA is any number <strong>of</strong> properties which have been<br />
earmarked for occupation by personnel fulfilling a number <strong>of</strong> designated<br />
appointments at a particular location. Priority for the allocation <strong>of</strong> ex-<strong>of</strong>ficio SFA is<br />
to be given to incumbents <strong>of</strong> the designated posts for the duration <strong>of</strong> their<br />
appointments.<br />
SECTION IV<br />
AGREEMENTS TO OCCUPY SFA<br />
0208. Service Licence to Occupy SFA. The Service Licence to occupy SFA is to be<br />
signed by all entitled and eligible Service personnel who occupy SFA. See Annex B. In<br />
the case <strong>of</strong> new build SFA provided through PFI/PPP arrangements, the HASC will attach<br />
an addendum to the Licence to Occupy SFA summarising any special arrangements which<br />
apply locally.<br />
0209. Other Occupation <strong>of</strong> SFA Agreements. Entitled and eligible civilian occupants <strong>of</strong><br />
SFA are required to sign a Civilian Agreement (Assured Shorthold Tenancy or similar<br />
lease).<br />
SECTION V<br />
MISAPPROPRIATION<br />
0210. Misappropriation <strong>of</strong> SFA as Single Living Accommodation (SLA). In locations<br />
where there is a shortfall <strong>of</strong> SLA and available SFA which is not required for entitled<br />
