6.1.7 You must notify Us (Housing Prime Contract in England and Wales or<br />

Regional Prime Contract in Scotland) as soon as You become aware <strong>of</strong> any defect or<br />

disrepair in the Property and take reasonable steps to limit the effects <strong>of</strong> any damage or<br />

loss that may occur.<br />

6.1.8 You must take appropriate precautions to prevent damage to water installations<br />

during cold weather.<br />

6.1.9 Our representative’s agents and contractors must be allowed access to the<br />

Property. They will endeavour to do so at reasonable times, in normal working hours on<br />

at least 48 hours’ advance notice. In an emergency however immediate entry may be<br />

necessary. You must allow access to the Property for statutory and other safety related<br />

inspections <strong>of</strong> gas and electrical appliances and supplies, including smoke detectors.<br />

Where our representatives' agents and/or contractors have missed a maintenance<br />

appointment, it is not possible for the Licensee or any other family member to claim for<br />

reimbursement from the MOD or DIO for loss <strong>of</strong> earnings or any other loss arising from a<br />

missed appointment. Our contractor’s current policy for reimbursement for missed<br />

appointments is available on their website.<br />

6.1.10 At Our election You must either make good or instead pay any cost incurred by<br />

Us in making good any damage to the Property or its fixtures or fittings caused by either<br />

Your negligence or wilful or accidental damage or that <strong>of</strong> any member <strong>of</strong> Your household<br />

including family pets or any invited visitor or their pets. Damage caused by fair wear and<br />

tear is excepted.<br />

6.1.11 When this Licence ends, You must leave the Property and any furnishings and<br />

fittings in good repair and a hygienically clean condition (fair wear an tear excepted).<br />

6.1.12 Within 14 days <strong>of</strong> receiving Your Assignment Order, You must notify the HASC.<br />

This may not be possible if You are deployed on operations or at sea, in which case You<br />

must notify the HASC within 14 days <strong>of</strong> Your return.<br />

6.1.13 You must give the HASC 4 months’ written notice <strong>of</strong> Your date <strong>of</strong> discharge.<br />

6.2 Things You Must Do If You Have To Leave The Property Temporarily<br />

6.2.1 During the winter months You must take reasonable precautions against damage<br />

caused by adverse weather conditions including turning <strong>of</strong>f the water supply at the main<br />

stopcock if there is any possibility <strong>of</strong> freezing up at the Property in Your absence.<br />

6.2.2 At any time other than during the winter months You must turn <strong>of</strong>f the water supply<br />

at the main stopcock if the Property is to be unoccupied for more than 7 days.<br />

6.3 Things You Must Never Do<br />

6.3.1 This Licence is personal to You and it allows only You, Your spouse/civil partner<br />

and dependent children to occupy the Property. You cannot transfer this Licence, or the<br />

occupation rights enjoyed under it, to anyone else nor share occupation <strong>of</strong> the Property<br />

with anyone else without Our prior written consent.<br />
